Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
The objective of this curricular unit is for the students to consolidate the skills that have been developed during the course at the level of methodological aspects of scientific work and research.
Syllabus:
1. Preparation of a scientific paper focusing the developments of the student’s research project;
2. Preparation of a scientific communication for a ‘simulated congress’
3. Participation in lectures and visits focusing themes relevant for the student's research projects, in an interdisciplinary perspective.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The preparation of the scientific paper and scientific communication is expected to promote a reflection of the students regarding the state of their research project, and it will also promote the acquisition of skills regarding the writing and communication of scientific information.
The lectures and visits will enable the students to contact with other research projects, in different development stages.
Topics to be developed in the seminars and visits will be based on the doctoral research projects in course, emphasizing an interdisciplinary approach.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The teaching methodologies consist in the orientation and support to the students in the preparation of the requested material, and in the preparation of the lectures and visits.
Evaluation will include the analysis and discussion of the scientific papers and communications.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The methodologies of teaching and learning of this course were programmed to boost the consolidation of skills related with the methodological aspects of the scientific research work.
