Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
• Know the main regulatory and legal requirements applicable in organizations in terms of Occupational Safety and Health;
• Evaluate the applicability of community diplomas;
• Analyze applicable legal diplomas and meet requirements from various sectors;
• Know the organization and operation of the services of safety, hygiene and health at work;
• Understand the main activities of the Higher Occupational Health and Safety Technician
Syllabus:
1. Notions of labor legislation
2. Notions of law
3. Legal framework of the Higher Technicians of Occupational Health and Safety
4. Prevention of occupational risks related to the management of a prevention system in the company
5. Organization and operation of occupational safety and health services
6. Legislation relating to the preparation of detailed prevention and protection plans
7. Sector-wide legislation
8. Legislation on the health and safety of particularly vulnerable groups (young people, women)
9. Legislation on the prevention of major accidents
10. Legislation applicable to industrial licensing and product safety
11. Repair of occupational accidents and diseases
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
-The contents of the curricular unit: notions of labor legislation, legal framework for senior OSH technicians, normative framework for the prevention of occupational risks, organization and operation of OSH services, sectoral legislation, legislation on the prevention of serious accidents, repair accidents and occupational diseases, etc. allow meeting the following learning objectives: knowing and evaluating the applicability of the main regulatory and legal requirements, national and community, in the area of Safety and Health at work in organizations, as well as the main activities of senior OSH technicians.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
-The teaching-learning methodology is expository, interrogative and participatory, during the theoretical-practical classes. The analysis and discussion of legal diplomas is used, in order to allow the interpretation and application of theoretical and practical knowledge. Practical assignments are proposed to be carried out individually.
The evaluation of this curricular unit takes place continuously during classes and includes the following evaluation components:
1. TE-Written individual assessment tests
2.TPI- Individual practical work
3. CP- Transversal skills: Commitment and participation during classes, including attendance and punctuality.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
-The use of methodologies, expository, interrogative and participatory of the contents, using analysis and discussion, as well as the realization of practical individual work, allow to know and evaluate the applicability of the main normative and legal requirements, national and community, of the area of Health and Safety at work in organizations, as well as knowing the main activities to be carried out by Superior OSH Technicians
