Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
We must refer some general trends that mark the quality evolution: enlargement of its ambit to all the areas, particularly the ones related to implementation of new organizational philosophies: TQM and Kaizen.
At the end of this curricular unit, students should be able to:
1 – Develop knowledge and competencies in the Kaizen methodology and its application to different contexts.
2-to perceive the different stages of definition and analysis of processes;
3-Analyze, understand and be able to use a set of Kaizen tools to solve the main problems of management and improvement of processes and operations;
4-interpret the challenges of process management in search of waste reduction and increased efficiency.
Syllabus:
1.Total Quality Management.
2. Kaizen method.
3. Other forms of waste elimination.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Point 1 of the content programmarian it introduces the terms and definitionstotal quality. Point 2 introduces kaizen method. Point 3 introduces another forms of waste elimination. The contents adjust it the objectives of the curricular unit, understanding knowledge in the area of the total quality and Kaizen.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The methodology of teaching and learning is expository, interrogative and demonstrative. Drawing on problem solving and oriented study geared to allow understanding and application of fundamental concepts and methods applied in Kaizen.
The assessment includes:
- one written test evaluation (80%)
- one team work(20%)
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The proposed methodologies are consistent with the learning objectives of the unit, in a way that they establish a close and continuous coordination between theoretical concepts, practical examples . This approach enables the interpretation and practical application of concepts and methods in total quality e Kaizen.
