Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
-To familiarize the student with technical concepts related with human exposure to physical agents;
-To provide knowledge’s and tools in order to make possible to pupil develop methodologies and evaluation techniques to control the physical agents mentioned;
-To present and discuss the main concepts related to the OHS activities, according to various approaches;
-To provide an overall view of risk assessment and planning towards hazard identification and risk control together with the economic analysis;
-To study the implementation and operation of the OH&S management.
Syllabus:
Human exposure to noise, vibrations, radiations and thermal ambient: Fundamentals, parameters, measurement unities, measurement equipments and operation principals, exposition effects, limit values and action level, samples methodology and strategy, prevention methodology, collective and individual protection, comfort evaluation criteria, norms and regulations, Work security bases, risk analyse and organization aspects of the hygiene and security function.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The syllabus presented cover the essential areas of knowledge and consistent to achieve the objectives, as the topics included in the program as the legal framework SHHW, Hygiene , Safety and Health in Work, the plan for Safety and Health prevention and management, covering the main aspects of the study will allow students to develop the tasks of the engineer in implementing the security and health plan, risk evaluation and promote prevention strategies in the area of SHTS applying them in production management.

The proposed methodologies are consistent with the objectives set for the course because of the study support the development-oriented, seeking to establish a parallelism between the theory and practice applied to real problems that enable the student to develop its activity as a engineer issues dominating key associated with management, framing the issue Safety, Health and Hygiene, in particular the last one.
