Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
The unit diagnosis in virology main purpose is to provide Master's students in Clinical Microbiology acquiring scientific and technical expertise to enable the knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals behind the various diagnostic techniques used in virology.
Syllabus:
The program of Diagnostic Virology course will address the various diagnostic techniques applied to virology relating them to the various structural components of the virus.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The assessment carried out in a laboratory context, through practical tests, confirms the technical competence in the implementation of laboratory procedures and identify the precession of the level of risk associated with different procedures.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Oral presentation of course content.
Active / participatory methodology, supported by audiovisual media.
Simulation under laboratory conditions so as to favor the realization of different techniques and procedures.
The academic component will consist of classes of laboratory practice.
The evaluation of the course includes the following phases:
An assessment tests written (PE) that focus on the taught syllabus (80% of the assessment).
Classroom behavior assessment (AC) in the application of knowledge (20% of the evaluation).
Final Classification: FC = (PE x 0.8) + (0.2 x AC)
Distribution of ECTS's: (PE - 4) + (AC - 2)
The student must obtain a minimum grade of 10 values ??to each component for approval.
It is a condition for regulatory approval of student attendance 80% of the practical classes.
The failure to appear in the evaluation evidence involves the zero rating for the final grade calculation purposes described above and non-award of the ECTS.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The assessment carried out in a laboratory context, through practical tests, confirms the technical competence in the implementation of laboratory procedures and identify the precession of the level of risk associated with different procedures.
