Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
i. To develop in the student the ability to evaluate and treat patients/clients in the health community context, namely in the elderly care;
ii. To develop clinical reasoning skills, integrating the theoretical-practical knowledge in the context of the elderly care;
iii. To develop evidence based practice;
iv. To develop the ability to produce clinical reports of activity.
Syllabus:
The physiotherapy in the preventive and senescence context is developed in a real context. As such, it is intended that the student on clinical practice develop the ability to provide effective physiotherapy care, selecting and implementing the appropriate therapeutic procedures, also identifying its indications and contraindications. It is intended that the students develop a contributive consciousness, which strengthens their professional identity.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Integrating concepts in senescence evaluation, by exploring different instruments of evaluation, enables the student to manage complex issues, from a clinical perspective improving technical and scientific autonomy in order to apply the apropriate techniques in clinical practice.

Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The discussion format classes with the presentation of the several instruments for senescence along with the practice specific techniques for treatment in senescence physiotherapy provides the students with specific knowledge essential to this practice, contributing to their increased clinical and scientific autonomy.
