Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
•Identify occupational hazards and risks in the workplace;
•Estimate occupational risks in the workplace;
•Promote the development of an integrated occupational risk prevention system;
•Delineate / implement / evaluate programs aimed at reducing occupational risks;
Skills:
•Know the Terms and definitions used in Health and Safety at Work.
•As the concept of Danger and Risk;
•Recognizes occupational hazards and risks in the workplace;
•Develops risk maps, establishing intervention measures;
•Develop programs and measures to minimize risks in the workplace;
•Disseminate information aimed at different occupational risks;
• Plans / executes training sessions in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
It is intended that the contents developed in the Course Unit will enable students with theoretical-practical knowledge and general and specific skills on the principles of occupational risk prevention in the workplace, promoting healthy working environments. The student should be able to identify hazards and risks in the workplace, use professional risk assessment methodologies and techniques and carry out risk control and management. It should also apply prevention and protection measures in the promotion and conservation of healthy work environments.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The Course Unit will be developed based on bibliographical research, analysis, discussion and joint critical reflection on the topics addressed, elaboration and discussion of group-oriented work.
The students will make groups, in the maximum of elements, for the elaboration of a case study of a company / institution. phased by different Curricular Units that constitute the study plan, based on the stages of risk management.
The continuous evaluation will result from the accomplishment, presentation and discussion of a group work, with weighting of 100%.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
To demonstrate the coherence of teaching methodologies with learning objectives, it was decided to focus on interactive methodologies, allowing students to use theoretical knowledge in a real work context, focusing on the reflection and analysis of cases of professional risk diagnosis and management , allowing the integration of knowledge in the process of analysis, evaluation and risk management in the workplace.
