Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
1- Know and consider the application of the current Psychopathology through their foundations, objectives and methods, in the context of case studies and clinical situations. 2- Be able to differentiate between levels of clinical approach and psychopathologic theoretical and clinical 3- be able to establish relationships between models different nosological and apply those to the diagnosis.
4- To acquire analytical skills in psychopathology evidencing the distinction of levels and dimensions from a conceptual and clinical point of view.
5- Exercising skills of observation and analysis of clinical cases in light of different approaches and models applying the programmatic contents.
6- Develop conceptual reading and bibliographic research, interpretation skills, oral and written expression, ability to select information and critical thinking in the scientific area.
Syllabus:
1-Framework historical-epistemological of Psychopathology, origins and evolution. 2- The "normal" and "pathological", balance/adaptation, symptoms and psychopathologic organization. 3- Neurosis. Disorders of Anxiety; Somatoform Disorders,.... 4- Organizations border-line. Disturbances Border-line and other Pathologies of the Personality. 5- Depressions. Disturbances of Mood. 6 - Psychoses. Psychotic disorders. 7- Psychopathology of Aging and senescence. 7.1 - Dynamic process of Aging. 7.2 - Clinical and semiological approach. Senility, depression, and dementia process. Functional Disturbances, neurocerebrais, primary, secondary. 7.3 - Clinical and nosology. 7.3.1 - Delusions late and disturbances of consciousness. 7.3.2. - a) Vascular dementias (Arteriopáticas). b) Type Dementia-Alzheimer's disease. 7.3.3 - Disturbances such as and other cognitive disorders.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Lecture Unit 1 - The programmatic contents favor in this unit the acquisition of references constituents of Psychopathology in adults and of senescence, the origin and historical evolution of concepts and theories, practice and methods (observation, research, intervention). This epistemological knowledge is structuring of skills and the achievement of program objectives.
Teaching Units 2 to 6 - promotes the study of the major psychopathological profiles of adult in the light of various approaches and dimensions, with application to practical cases (bibliography, and observation of consultations).
Lecture Unit 7 - promotes the understanding of the concept of aging and senescence, the study of the major psychopathological profiles of senescence in light of several approaches and dimensions with application to practical cases, promoting the integration of competences.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The teaching methodology include the exhibition, analysis and application of conceptual basis and methodology of psychopathology. It promotes the discussion of syllabus, based on analysis of bibliographies and of clinical cases, and exercises in the classroom, and eventually the observation of consultation in clinical teaching. The assessment is ongoing, based on in-class exam in two moments, oral participation and achievement of reading of texts of literature and analysis of cases.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Unit Letiva 1 and 2 will target exposure of descriptive and commented upon in order to organize and guide the study of psychopathology in their various aspects and dimensions, and thus underpin the theoretical knowledge and the development of concepts applied. The Letivas Units 3 to 7 will be the subject of exposure descriptive of the main clinical and psychopathological disturbances in Adult and senescent, as well as analysis of clinical cases, in order to promote knowledge and skills of understanding and diagnosis.
