Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
The goal of the UL ' Portuguese for foreigners ' is to teach Portuguese as a foreign language and develop several skills simultaneously: language competence, intercultural social and reflective in the host country.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The contents focus on acquisition of vocabulary and grammar in Portuguese, allowing in this way to achieve the goals of the curriculum units, more specifically: integrate knowledge, skills and abilities for a effective communication and more fluent in academic contexts and multicultural professionals; demonstrate knowledge and skills to perform tasks using the Portuguese language as a means of communication; immersion at the University and in the host country.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The methodology includes theoretical exposure, research, promotion of reading, writing and speaking in Portuguese, thematic debates and critical reflections. Continuous assessment in the sessions ' Tongue ' is based on the achievement of two written tests, oral presentation and discussion of a project and work on theoretical and practical tasks in the classroom
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
In the sessions ' Tongue ', the theoretical exposition of Portuguese vocabulary is related to private and social life, with the narration of the winds passed, health and recreation; conversation in Portuguese about the different themes; learning and application of grammatical structures that appear in written and oral texts related to these themes; individual and group activities to promote the acquisition of vocabulary and grammar taught; individual and group execution of activities that promote oral fluency and writing; theoretical exposition of vocabulary and linguistic features to make a presentation in Portuguese and to debate a subject; discussion of cases in Portuguese; elaboration of a project on the experience as an international student in Portugal.
