Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
To provide PhD students the theoretical knowledge about the scientific research such as the drawing of projects, the construction of research plans and the results’ presentation.
To present advanced methodologies of research by using available data base and procedures of collecting information and analysis (quantitative and qualitative).
Students are expected to develop the necessary skills to solve problems in new situations and wider and multidisciplinary contexts; Instrumental skills: analysis and syntesis; acquisition of specific knowledges in the scientific area; oral and written communication; management of the information (to be able to search and analyse the information from various sources). Interpersonnal skils: of critical and self critical; interdisciplinar communication; ethical commitment. Systemic competences; of research; adaptation to new situations; promotion of quality.
Syllabus:

The writing rules: practical implementation. Submission and review of scientific articles and works; public presentation of research works.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
This unit aims to integrate students in the theoretical and methodological contexto of research and give them the instrumental capabilities for the academic work; also aims to promote the critical reflexion about the analysis of the efective results and promote the autonomous and critical work of students.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Teaching methodologies include theoretical expositon, research, analysis and discussion of specific sources as well as critical reflections. Elaboration of practical exercises contemplating issues of choice of subject, choice of methodology and matters of academic writing (100%).
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Theoretical exposition: Concepts; theories and scientific knowledge in the área; ethical commitments; development of the analysis and syntesis skils; oral and written communication, management of information and problems resolution; interdisciplinary communication; apllication of knowledge in the research practice; autonomous work.
