Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
1. be able to reflect on the body as well as its symbolic, cultural and social component and, actualy, about their tecnological extension.
2. To Know and understand the holistic dimension of health.
3. Acquire the theoretical and methodological bases of work/research in anthropology of health.
4. Acquire and develop knowledge and skills that allow discussing and evaluating a new paradigm in the analysis of health and illness both in sanitary spaces as social communities.
5. To know and understand the dimensions of the social structure that influence health
6. Provide students with knowledge to understand the social experience of the disease in its various dimensions.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
1 Its content focuses on the further development of the basics and fundamentals of Anthropology. The students thus acquire the basics and a wider field of reflection for addressing health issues, disease and the body.
2 - Its content covers the major themes that address the relationship between the body, the disease, to and socio-cultural expressions, emotional and symbolic.
3 -Its content conveys to students the key issues facing society in its relation to health. It has been a particular focus on the influence of social structures, and the lived experience of the disease. The students thus understand the holistic dimension of health.
4 - Its content will focus on theories that inform social policies of access to health and its importance to community development and citizenship.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Teaching methodology will include theoretical lecturing, research, reading and discussion of specific references, as well as thematic debating and critical reflection. The evaluation will be based on the accomplishment of two tests with a weight of 50% in the final grade.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Un. 1 Activ method. The theoretical explanation of concepts, fundamentals and methods of anthropology will provide students the knowledge and skills required to reflect on a broader view on health, about the disease and on the body, taking into account the social, cultural and political dimenstions. Un. 2 Activ method. The theoretical exposition of perspectives about the body give the students the knowledge and competence for reflection and further debate their symbolic, social and cultural componentes. Un. 3 Activ method. The theoretical exposition of structural variables health / illness and social experience of these in each individual will provide students with the knowledge and competence to reflect and discuss after this duality. Un. 4 Activ method. The theoretical exposition of theoretical perspectives on health policy will provide students the knowledge and expertise to further reflection and participation in debate about health policy, justice, its ethical values, the importance for community development and citizenship, as well as on the ideologies associated with them.
