Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Criminal law is one of the traditional branches of public law and is also conceptual domain demarcation of action of Criminology, and this course aims to introduce students to the concepts, models, tools and practices developed in this branch of law and its relevance to the Criminological Science.
Syllabus:
1. Criminal law and its context in society. Principles of Criminal Law. The crime. 2. The elements of the crime: the agent, guilt, illegality, unlawfulness exclusionary elements of the penalty .. 3. Participation, trial and punishment and abandonment. Types of punishment. Appropriate penalties to end the Penal D.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Section 1 of syllabus introduces the necessary understanding of the importance of criminal law, the principle of criminal law, the integral elements of the crime as unlawful, guilt, shame concepts and problems that may arise. Also makes the legal approach to global, EU and national level. Section 2 discusses the legal elements of the crime: the recipients must know how to analyze a crime and to what extent its elements are present. Section 3 deals with the type of pen. Its application in different situations: selection and measurement.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The teaching methodology will include theoretical lectures, and discussion of case studies of specific references and thematic discussions and critical reflections. The evaluation will be in two tests with a weighting of 50% each.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Unit 1 Lectures for characterizing the content area of operation; Presentation and handling of the legislation; Individual and group discussion of cases for different issues that constitute legal requests; statements; Practical in order to demonstrate knowledge and skills to perform tasks criminal matters dominate the main legal technical exercises; Unit 2 - Theoretical analysis of content; Presenting real cases (anonymous); Application of labor law to specific cases; Demonstrate the capability of oral and written communication of the contents; Show autonomy and responsible conduct in law enforcement Unit 3.
