Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
(i) To integrate methods, techniques, concepts, models, theories and knowledge in the judicial area;
(ii) To get, develop and deepen knowledge and skills that allow an interpretation of contemporary political-economic aspects, notably those in the conflit rights
(iii) To critically analyse of case studies;
(iv) To improve oral and written communication skills;
Syllabus:
I. General notion of law and legal rule. Law and Society. Law and its importance in the structure of the individual's life.

IV. The branches of law: the most relevant aspects for international relations students

VII. Interpretation of the legal norm. Coding Techniques
VIII. Interpretation and Integration of the Legal Standard

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Teaching unit Introduction to Law:
discipline is composed of several theoretical-practical matters.
Description: Presentation of legal phenomena under the rules governing the legal relations of the individual in society.
Objectives: This unit aims to introduce students to the discipline nuclear information on legal relations in its various legal aspects.
Tutorial: optional, for learning consolidation
Description: Personalized discipline work Monitoring
Objectives: This guidance aims to support the independent student work, research and organization of information.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Evaluation with two tests
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Unit right- Lectures of characterizing the content area of operation; Presentation and handling of legislation; Debate individual and group cases for different problems that are legal requests; statements; Practical exercises in order to demonstrate knowledge and skills to perform tasks of legal matters. Mastering the main legal techniques to interpret the statutes; Analysis of some diplomas, including the Civil Code, Criminal Code, the Portuguese Constitution.
