Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
To learn and identify cultural and artistic relevance of Cinema, including its civilizational value. Integrate cinema and Communication Sciences critically, and journalistic practice. Recognize and understand the major themes of moving pictures, their historical process. Encourage reflexion on the cinema aesthetic language and the media and social consequences of films.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The course contents combine the perception of reality and cinema practice, and question the cultural, aesthetic and political value of filming practice. These contents promote critical relationships between cinema and information, contextualizing cinema phenomena and the respective consequences in the media. Thus, they promote students’ aptitudes and competences in the analysis of the key value images have in today’s world.

Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The methods adopted comprehend theoretical and practical lessons focused on the study of cinema fundamental canonical texts. They point to and systematize the impact of cinema -: its history, and production logics. By means of this process, the student is provided with an awareness of the theoretical, practical, economic and social importance of cinema. It is assumed that films are an essential work instrument to foster practice and reflexion on the main trends of current Communication.
