|First, to understand the main materials of International Law, and be autonomous (self-learning) especially in the legal field on Human Rights;|

|UNIT 1. BASICS IN INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW (IHL)|
1. Development, sources and extension of IHL [sessions 1, 2 and 3]
2. Principles guiding the conduction of hostilities [sessions 4 and 5]
UNIT 2. SPECIFIC POINTS IN INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW
1. Protection of specific persons [sessions 7, 8 and 9]
2. Judicial instruments [sessions 10, 11 and 12]
|Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:|
|Demonstration of the capacity of interpretation of bibliographic materials on International Law assessed by the elaboration of a reading note; |
Demonstration of the capacity to solve problems and present this solution by a written test (format United Nations Human Rights Council), orally presented.
|Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):|
|Preparation of one theoretical Test (reading note)(1500 words)(40%) and of one practical teste (UNHRC Model), with solutions orally presented (40%). Attendance is worth 20%.|
|Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:|
|Theoretical-practical methodology consisting into an analysis of documents (in order to develop the capacity of interpretation) and into the study of cases (in order to develop the capacity of rational debate).|
