Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
LO1. Demonstrate, in writing and orally, evidence of clinical reasoning in the analysis and integration of data on communication, language, speech, and other oro-motor disorders;
LO2. Identify relevant information in each consultation carried out, structuring it in the stages of clinical reasoning, namely the collection of anamnesis data, the implementation of protocols and evaluation tests, identification and achievement of intervention objectives based on the different diagnoses
LO3. Dominate knowledge related to the assessment, diagnosis and intervention in the clinical area of communication, language and speech disorders, congenital or acquired, to elaborate a reflective case study
LO4. Act in conformity with the specificities of the speech therapist performance in hospital context;
LO5. Recognize the importance of team work
LO6. Carry out a prevention project in the community.
Syllabus:
CP1. Direct intervention in hospital context (375H)
CP2. Discussion of clinical cases (clinical monitoring) (60H)
CP3. Design of a Project of prevention and/or sensitization about Speech Therapy in the community (90H)
CP4. Construction of a clinical teaching dossier with the compilation of all the case studies followed throughout the semester
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The programmatic contents (PC) were designed according to the learning objectives (LO) of the curricular unit:
CP1 corresponds to LO1, LO2, LO3, and LO5
CP2 corresponds to LO4
CP3 corresponds to LO6
CP4 corresponds to LO1
In CP1 the student must do individual follow up of patients followed in a hospital setting.
In CP2 the student must actively participate in case study discussion meetings.
In CP3 the student should ideate, plan and implement a prevention project in a group context.
In CP4 the student must construct a clinical teaching dossier with a compilation of all the case studies followed throughout the semester.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):

- Continuous assessment, including student performance on stage and participate in tutorials guidelines
Assessment:
Normal season:
Orientation of 6 clinical cases (using COMPEC-TF) + participation in the clinical monitoring meetings (15%) + internship dossier (50%) - 65%.
Active and assertive participation in the project in the community - 20%.
Presentation and defense of the final internship dossier - 15%.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Clinical stage Participatory methodology in which it is intended that students apply knowledge gained through critical reflection and analysis of specific real situations and in solving concrete problems and development for future clinical practice. Tutorial orientation Interrogative and participatory methodology, which intends to provide guidance and monitor the work directed to each of the students in order to foster a reflective reasoning, based on previously acquired knowledge and specific bibliographic research.
