Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Students will be able to:
(O1) indeep knowledge about child development
(O2) identify principles, domains and stages of child development
(O3) associate influences on child development with its outcomes
(O4) distinguish typical and atypical development
(O5) identify developmental risk factores and intervention techniques
(O6) apply and interprete outcomes of developmental assessment/screening scales
(O7) recognize and improve behaviors and attachment patterns of mother-baby interaction
Syllabus:
-Development and growing: developmental concepts and principles, factors of development in childhood, development domains and attachment. Normal versus atypical development (alarm signals). Child development assessment and stimulation, developmental screening (SGS-II), improving development of children at risk.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Acquisition and integration of knowledge enabling the framework of Psychomotor Development; Acquisition and development of skills of analysis, synthesis and integration of methods, techniques, concepts and methodologies of psychomotor development assessment
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Exposition, case discussion and document review.
1 final report about developmental assessment - case study - with oral presentation and discussion (90%); proactive participation in classes and tasks (10%).
