The main objective of this course is to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge, concerning to the application of therapeutic techniques, essential for good performance of Physiotherapy in general. The student must know how to apply these techniques correctly and effectively when faced with a clinical case, obtaining the most efficient results. | |||

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives: | |||
Theoretical-practical: The introduction of basic theoretical and practical concepts of the techniques / strategies assessment and therapeutic methods used in the Methods and Techniques in Physiotherapy III enables the student to develop the ability to understand the scientific basis of them. In this sense, it seeks to provide the students with specific knowledge and terminology of anatomy, biomechanics and physiology, relevant to the assessment and treatment of patients in the areas of the Termotherapy, Fototherapy and Electrotherapy, Functional Taping and Hydrotherapy. Practical: The practical demonstration and training of the various evaluation techniques and procedures related to the content of the Methods and Techniques in Physiotherapy III, allows them to develop skills of technical implementation and development of different intervention strategies. | |||
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation): | |||
The final score is calculated taking into account the 70% of the final practical and 30% of the final theoretical-practical component. Theoretical-practical: Includes expository and/or discussion format classes with the presentation of case studies. The assessment is comprised of written exams where the terminology, theoretical concepts and clinical reasoning applied in the Termotherapy, Fototherapy and Electrotherapy, Functional Taping and Hydrotherapy are evaluated. Practical: Includes demonstrative lessons and repeated practice of the assessment and physiotherapy treatment techniques used in the Termotherapy, Fototherapy and Electrotherapy, Functional Taping and Hydrotherapy practice. The assessment is comprised of practical tests with clinical cases framed in different contexts. | |||
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes: | |||
Theoretical-practical: The different themes and presentation of case studies in the classroom will be transmitted in an expository and / or discussion format in order to allow the acquisition by the student of theoretical and practical knowledge of the specific principles, terminology, anatomy, biomechanics and physiology used in the context of the Termotherapy, Fototherapy and Electrotherapy, Functional Taping and Hydrotherapy. Practical: The topics covered in class will be exposed demonstratively and repeatedly practiced so that students are able to perform the skills of assessment, planning and implementation of techniques and methods of physiotherapy used by the Termotherapy, Fototherapy and Electrotherapy, Functional Taping and Hydrotherapy in different contexts and clinical cases. | |||
