Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The syllabus of the Pharmacology and Therapeutics curricular unit provide nursing students with the acquisition of scientific, technical and interpersonal skills that allow nurses to develop interventions in the field of therapy. The knowledge of the pharmacological foundations, the different targets and therapeutic objectives, as well as the risks associated with each therapeutic agenda, will allow the student to develop his critical spirit, inserted in a multidisciplinary care team, and to exercise, with greater technical-scientific autonomy his profession. The incorporated themes allow the student to transfer knowledge and skills on pharmacology and therapeutics to provide nursing care at the most diverse levels.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The curricular unit is developed in contact hours and in the student's autonomous work time. In order to guarantee the intended objectives, it is used the exposition and debate of relevant theoretical concepts in the classroom, orientation of the autonomous study of the students by consulting the recommended bibliography, resolution of proposed exercises, discussion of clinical cases and laboratory simulation. Continuous assessment at the theorical part consists of two written tests (70%) and the laboratory practice (30%) consists of one test (10%) and practical examination (20%). UFP Pedagogical Regulation applies to all items.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The contents taught in Theoretical, Theoretical-Practical and Laboratory practice classes allow the transfer of knowledge and skills on pharmacology and therapeutics for the provision of nursing care at the most diverse levels. In relation to the Laboratory practice sessions, through the use of simulated practices, these allow the development of skills related to the different routes of administration of the drug and dilutions.
