Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The syllabus contents of this course are designed to allow the introduction of fundamental concepts about research. This first contact will allow to acquire the initial skills on quantitative and qualitative methods of nursing research that are interconnected with the curricular unit of practice based on evidence in nursing and with undergraduate work. The curricular unit aims to demonstrate the importance of research for the development of nursing, its relationship between theory and practice, promoting the development of scientific research skills necessary for the promotion of the profession.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The curricular unit is developed in contact hours and in the student's autonomous working time, it is organized in theoretical classes and theoretical-practical classes. In the curricular unit, several pedagogical methods will be combined, namely expository, demonstrative, interrogative and individual and group works. The continuous assessment regime consists of a written test (40%), a group of two students' assignment (25%) and a group assignment (35%). In these works, the student initiates contact with research based on scientific databases. UFP Pedagogical Regulation applies to all items.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
In a first phase, the need to analyze and reflect on new concepts implies the use of expository interrogative methodologies. In a second phase, the demonstration of examples enables the acquisition of knowledge that is essential to the research process. The exemplification of practical cases and the application of the research process allows the consolidation of skills for the use of research in the profession. These methodologies facilitate the initial development of competencies in health research in general and in nursing in particular.
