Syllabus: | |||
Clinical Nursing Teaching in Adult and Elderly Health is based on the articulation of a set of knowledge to be mobilized and applied by the student in an integrated manner during the clinical teaching period, with particular emphasis on addressing the health/disease processes in the area relevant to the nursing practice of medical and surgical nursing.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
TThe syllabus of this Curricular Unit is applied in an integrated way to situations experienced in the context of clinical teaching. They allow the student to develop human, technical and scientific knowledge, skills and competences, in the context of providing nursing care to people with medical and surgical health problems and their respective families, inserted in a health unit. It is intended to develop, throughout clinical teaching, critical thinking about autonomy and the decision-making process in nursing care, through the incorporation of a holistic view of the adult and the elderly.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The curricular unit is developed in seminar hours and in clinical teaching. It is up to the different elements of this process (supervisor and pedagogical assistant) to provide relevant experiences that allow the transfer of theoretical knowledge to the practical context. The development of clinical teaching takes place in moments of presence in care units, under the guidance of a pedagogical assistant and supervised by a teacher, for the development of skills in the cognitive, technical-instrumental and socio-relational domain, for people with problems of health in the medical-surgical and geriatric sphere. The gradual character of the development of competences is reflected in the different assessment grids of the study plan. Continuous assessment is based on the assessment of clinical practice, according to the established model (70%) and on the completion/presentation of a written work (30%). UFP's Pedagogical Regulation applies to all items.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The teaching methodologies recommended for the curricular unit aim at the development of knowledge, skills and competences, which determine the learning objectives of the CU, considering the orientation of activities in a clinical context, the encouragement of research, meaning and synthesis of information, promotion of a reflective attitude and appreciation of interpersonal processes, interconnected with the experiences lived in the context of clinical teaching. The student is involved in the evaluation and reflection process throughout their learning path, shared with the supervisor and pedagogical assistant, which allows the student to reflect on the development of learning. It is intended through the dynamization of individual/group sessions, discussion of clinical cases, research guidance and elaboration of works, to promote the analysis, sharing and reflection on the practice of care or activities that promote learning in the context of the adult and elderly with medical and surgical pathology.
