Spring SemesterPortuguese/English78
Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
This subject intends to present the student the main activities and functions associated with management and control in civil construction, including work preparation, control and coordination of different activities. It also includes the presentation of various tools to support this activities. The main objective is to prepare the student to it's activity as a civil engineer, presenting the framework of this professional activity.
Syllabus:
Civil construction agents: competencies and responsibilities. Construction work classification and different phases. Project coordination and control. Work measurement, principles, rules and control. Costs and budgets, costs structure. Price revision. Construction work control. Costs control. Quality control. Sub-contracting control.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The contents are intended to develop skills and ability to apply tools that allow students proper integration in team coordination, monitoring and supervision of works, in order to develop strategies to the problem of control of different execution of projects in the area of civil engineering and architecture. To achieve these goals the capabilities are developed to understand the role and responsibilities of different actors in a work, ability to carry out a proper management in terms of coordination and control of projects in its different phases, ability to develop the tasks of the civil engineer on measuring work in different specialties, budgeting works, carry out the different types of control in a work, ability to revise prices in a work and ability to carry out the supervision of works.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The course is taught with exposure practical classes about the different syllabus presenting different work tools, calculation methods and control techniques, proceeding to its application in simulation exercises project management problems.
The student will be able to perform tasks in the field of project management and organization and coordination of appropriate work teams. The software tools are also used in particular for the development of practical work planning and control system for a real situation.
Assessment: Two written tests
work plan and control for a project - software application
Student performance (attendance, technical performance, active participation in classes and global interest shown by matter and exercises them developed).
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The proposed methodologies are consistent with the objectives set for the course because of the support the study of oriented development, seeking to draw a parallel between the theory and practice applied to real problems that allow students to develop their activity as a tax engineer key dominating a problem associated with the supervision, coordination and control of construction, integrating the knowledge of subjects taught previously and solve practical problems of management and coordination of supervisory teams, using different instruments and control control techniques.
