Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Under the theme "From the Projecto to the Building Construction," the studies produced in this course will be based on an investigation to be carried out at different scales on a single theme - EQUIPMENT - setting the program of the architectural intervention to be undertaken in an real urban context allowing the student to relate and Under the theme "From the Projecto to the Building Construction," the studies produced in this course will be based on an investigation to be carried out at different scales on a single theme - EQUIPMENT - setting the program of architectural intervention to be conducted in real urban context that will uncover and relate various stimuli and conditions that characterize any design process. At the end of the semester the student should be able to produce a diagnosis of the main constraints and potentials for a particular urban area.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The work developed on Project VI follows the work developed on the previous semester starting with an investigation of the site of intervention of the project, both from its physical point of view either from its social and cultural context, allowing students to inform their proposal as well as to justify theoretically the options taken. Starting from a larger scale analysis of the territory up to the detail, the student travels during the development process of the project all the different stages/scales associated with this type of intervention, crossing with a selection of theoretical aspects, technical and compositive issues considered overriding the future practice of architecture.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
On the “practice lessons", where the student shall carry out his individually work, it will be scheduled sessions of collective debate/critic of the projects for their comparison and possible redirection. In addition there will be "theoretical lessons" where the information provided will seek to ensure the essential enlargement and critical reasoning of the drawings produced. The knowledge and skills acquired by the student will be communicated on the project presentation (by the use of graphics and text) as well as on oral presentation/discussion. The method of evaluation of curricular unit is based on the model of continuous assessment and consists of two components: the practical component and the theoretical component. The participation of students in the classes is mandatory. The minimum attendance to the classes is stipulated in Pedagogical Regulation. There is no resource-assessment for the practical component of this curriculum unit.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The practical component of this curriculum unit is centered mainly in the process of developing a "project", duly informed/legitimized according a transdisciplinary perspective of knowledge. The evaluation of the "project" and thus, the evaluation of "process", by which the research/work of the pupil, inside and outside the classroom and, as a whole, inseparable of skills acquired by the student and, consequently, determinant of the quality of their future professional practice. Underline some assumptions underlying the methods of teaching adopted: strengthening the role of guidance of the teacher in the period of study and individual research performed outside of the hours of contact; the practical work must simulate the complexity of a architectural process current, operating on premises programmatic and functional real well with on a "place" concrete. The direct contact with the intervention as well as with the local population and the various social partners and politicians is a priority at safeguard. Research results must be presented and discussed with those involved in the process of development of the project. The collaboration and exchange of experiences on the themes addressed in this unit curriculum with students from other courses taught at the University (mostly in the same building) are encouraged and valued. The process of defining the theoretical content of this curriculum unit, as well as the methodologies of teaching adopted, took account of his applicability in practical exercise of the profession of architect - useful knowledge - as well as their relationship/consistency with the other programmatic contents specified in the "story" of the curriculum of the course. Thus, this teaching methodology adopted, in a context of classes compact and great proximity teacher/learner allows students an ongoing acquisition of knowledge and skills covered in the scope of learning objectives of this curriculum unit.
