This Course aims the initiation of the students in the study of the landscape, assimilating its main concepts and principles, learning the history of its genesis and evolution, and applying this knowledge in an exercise of landscape intervention, with a deepening of the concept Green Structure and its application to a case study.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
A. Know the basic foundations of Landscape Architecture, its concepts, methodologies and the articulation with Architecture and Urbanism;
B. Elaborate the analysis and diagnosis of the landscape, through the study of the components and elaboration of thematic maps;
C. Work on information and analyze the landscape, proposing a Green Infrastructure;
D. Having critical analysis, knowledge and making judgments about the use of natural resources in the process of territorial development;
E. Make proposals for intervention in the landscape, integrating ecological thinking, and articulating natural and man-made elements;
F. Communicate your conclusions and the work developed (as well as the reasoning that gave rise to them), in the form of drawing, writing and oral presentation;
G. Identify and distinguish the main moments in the history of Landscape Architecture and the evolution of gardens and public spaces, recognizing the main authors, styles and spaces.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Continuous assessment
The implementation of the program has a theoretical and a theoretical and practical component. The lectures begin with a presentation of the program elements, followed by preparation of exercises to be developed by the students. The theoretical and practical lessons will be devoted to the resolution of the exercises, with tasks which will serve to consolidate and apply the knowledge obtained in the theoretical part, on learning the various programmatic contents.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
A - Theoretical exercises (ET): ET1: Theoretical test B - Theoretical and practical exercises (ETP): ETP1: Analysis and diagnosis of the landscape (Group work) Exercise of analysis of the landscape case study, according to a methodology of analysis, synthesis and proposal. ETP2: Proposal for Green Structure (Individual work) Exercise of proposal for a Green Structure in the landscape case study.
