Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
A. Demonstrate, in writing and orally, evidence of clinical reasoning in the analysis and integration of data on communication disorders, language, speech and other oro-motor disorders;
B. Identify relevant information in each consultation carried out and observed, structuring it in the steps of the clinical reasoning, namely the collection of anamnesis data, the implementation of evaluation tests, identification and implementation of intervention objectives based on different diagnoses of communication disorders, language, speech and other oro-motor disorders;
C. Construct planning sheets and record consultation for all cases followed and observed, interpreting the included items;
D. To master knowledge regarding the evaluation, diagnosis and intervention in the clinical area of communication, speech and speech disorders, congenital or acquired;
E. Identify key issues and propose therapeutic solutions of the cases followed and observed throughout the stage.
Syllabus:
1 Direct intervention and observation of the therapeutic pair (100H);
2 Discussion of clinical cases (clinical monitoring and other situations) (60H);
3 Observation in different clinical contexts (40H) - observation and interpretation of anamnesis data, evaluation and intervention in communication disorders, language, speech and other oro-motor disorders;
4 Construction of the clinical teaching file with the compilation of all the case studies followed and observed throughout the semester, with the registration and analysis of anamnesis data, evaluation and intervention in communication disorders, language, speech, and other oro-motor disorders.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Goal A is associated with content 1, 2.
Goal B is associated with content 1, 3.
Goal C is associated with content 1, 2, 3.
Goal D is associated with content 4.
Goal E is associated with content 1, 2, 3.
Goal F is associated with content 1.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The classes are practical, considered as laboratory, since they take place in settings of real clinical practice, such as the pedagogical clinic of speech therapy of the UFP, Hospital Escola Fernando Pessoa, and other institutions with which UFP has protocol established for the realization of internships.
a) Collaborative;
b) Elaboration of works;
c) Discussion in small and large group;
d) Case study;
e) Expositive;
f) Self-directed learning.
Evaluation:?
Completion of an internship dossier where all the case studies are tracked and observed throughout the semester.
The evaluation is continuous (supported by COMPEC-TF) of ethical conduct, practical performance and the obligatory documents that support the intervention (planning and session registers, therapeutic plans, training dossier), as well as participation in monitoring meetings and clinical discussion.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Goal A - method a), b), d), f) - Evaluation: Direct intervention and observation of the therapeutic pair Goal B - method c), e), f) - Evaluation: Discussion of clinical cases (clinical monitoring and other situations) Goal C - method b), d), f) - Assessment: Observation in different contexts of clinical performance Goal D - method b), d), f) - Evaluation: Construction of the clinical teaching file
