PART 1
1. Display Paralanguage and Nonverbal Communication areas to know how to integrate the training of professionals who deal with the public;
2. Identify the basic concepts of this knowledge;

3. Analyze the implications of this knowledge for professional practice;
4. Relate this knowledge as basic knowledge about social interaction;
5. Apply methodologies, techniques, and knowledge to situations in context of social interaction.

Syllabus:
The programmatic contents (CP) were delineated according to the learning objectives (OA) of the curricular unit:
CP1 corresponds to OA1 (Part I)
CP2 corresponds to OA2 (Part II)
In CP1 the main approaches to paralanguage and nonverbal communication influencing current psychology are discussed, together with their historical antecedents and their fields of practical application;
In CP2 approaches the methodologies and techniques under development in the last years making paralanguage and nonverbal communication a subject of great pertinence psychology and vast applications.

Theoretical-practical classes:
- Presentations using projections, explanations on the board, exemplifications, practical cases on video;
- Summary and discussion of scientific papers ;
- Development of small exercises to be solved in the classroom, solving problems and doubts.

Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
Once the curricular unit consists of theoretical-practical classes, the teaching methodologies will be diversified. Thus, the exposition of theories and key concepts related to Paralanguage and Nonverbal Communication should always be related to practical aspects of the professional activity of gilders. Through the interrogative method teachers will be able to be sure of the same concepts. Afterwards students will be able to apply the lessons learned in cases of their future professional practice, in small practical work and in autonomous research work.
