Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Based on a reflection on the concepts of language and verbal communication the student should be able to address issues relating to the various schools which have discussed this conceptualization. Students should also develop skills that enable them to undertake discourse analysis and reflect on relationships with science and society.
Syllabus:
Language and verbal communication. Language, science and society
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The contents focus on the study of language in communicative situations, including historical and theoretical perspectives.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The classes will be mainly theoretical, although the inductive method, based on dialogue, will also be used.
Competencies to be acquired:
-theoretical and practical grasp of concepts of language and verbal communication in every working situation
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The methodologies adopted are consistent with the goals formulated for this curricular unit, since they are based on development-oriented study and on an active participation on the part of the students. In this way, students will acquire the necessary tools to experiment and improve their ways of expression in the field of verbal communication.
