This course is designed to provide dental students with skills that ensure that patients with syndromes, deficiencies or pathologies that are at special risk prevent them from collaborating in conventional dental treatments. | |||

Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation): | |||
This Unit has a theoretical component (TC) and a practical component (PC). In TC, expository, interrogative and demonstrative methods are used regarding the topics defined in the programmatic contents. The orientation to an autonomous study by consulting the recommended bibliography is also made available to the student. The PC will consist of practical sessions at the Clinic of Dental Medicine of FCS-UFP. The evaluation regime will be ongoing, including one moment of written assessment in TC, and practical performance evaluation in PC. The student will be declared approved for each component if he obtains a final classification equal or superior to 10 (ten) values. The final classification results from a 50% weighting for each of the components. | |||

The teaching methods employed range from the theoretical study to the transmission of individual and professional experiences, and discussions in the classroom, based on "problem issues" and clinical cases.
