Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
The subject has as an objective to simulate the general dental office practice in a everyday bases.
The student has the oppurtunity to evaluate, diagnose and treat the patients within several fields of dentistry during this class so that they can integrate the overall knowledge obtained in previous subjects in dental school.
Syllabus:
Teaching unit I -2 ECTS
Theoretical presentations of surgery / implantology, endodontics, dentistry, aesthetics / periodontics, prosthodontics, research in dental medicine, pharmacology, ergonomics and postural correction.
Teaching unit II - 4 ECTS
Clinical studies conducted throughout the semester in the discipline of integrated clinical adults under supervision of teachers.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The Integrated Clinic for Adults I intend to provide the student with the necessary knowledge and a multidisciplinary approach in different areas of dentistry technical capabilities. This unit aims to train students in the development of clinical judgment appropriate, regarding the diagnosis and the preparation of a proper treatment plan, aiming ultimately integrated rehabilitation. For such a theoretical component will support the scientific to clinical practice the student is able to technically accomplish the plan of treatment idealized knowledge. Selecting appropriate scientific literature within the themes outlined in the program of this course is oriented to research and, thus fostering scientific reading, the development of critical capacity and contact with scientific nomenclature , as well as the motivation for the development of research and scientific presentations within the discipline.

Theorical evaluation 20% clinical evaluation 80% of the final score
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The lectures emphasize expository and participatory methods , with a view to inter -relationship of the various contents of the different areas of dentistry . The focus is on literature on the timeliness of the content displayed on the unit's program , particularly in terms of in vitro and in vivo , and other evidence in the literature about them . In practical classes the predominant method statement and clinical practice by students regarding the preparation of the clinical examination , radiographic examination , determination of diagnosis and treatment plan . In clinical practice with patients , collect and analyze the data necessary for multidisciplinary rehabilitation , according to protocols specific actions for each area , still promoting patient care with clinical posture, quality and safety for the patient and the dental team .
