Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
The learning of Human Anatomy is structural for medical education representing a fundamental step for a better understanding of the clinical subjects. Provides the bases for a medical reasoning and thinking, promoter of skills development related to observation, description and adoption of appropriate anatomical and medical terminology. This course aims the acquisition of solid knowledge about Human Anatomy and its functional implications.   The students should be able to pronounce and define the anatomical terms used. Students should still be able to describe, locate and relate anatomical structures related to the chapters: Angiology, Skin and facial layers; Respiratory System; Digestive System; Urinary System; Female Reproductive System; Male Reproductive System; Endocrine System; Nervous System.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The lectures are intended to enable students to acquire basic knowledge in Anatomy. It is expected that students will be able to describe, study relationships and understand anatomical similarities and diferences. The student should be able to predict which and how the structures and underlying processes may be subject to disease.To obtain a solid and extensive knowledge of Human Anatomy and according to the syllabus it was considered more efficient to start the program by the Cardiovascular System, following the order set out in the syllabus and described above.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The theoretical component (CT) and theoretical - practical (CTP) consists of lectures of 50 minutes starting with a presentation of the lesson summary and completed with lesson synthesis and a doubt clearing session. The practical component (CP), structured in conjunction with the CT an CTP consists of weekly classes of 90 minutes. Reported in tutorial teaching, open to the participation of students and laboratory work with anatomical models. With justification, the online learning model will include synchronous and asynchronous sessions. The evaluation of each component is continuous and takes into account: attendance, punctuality and attitude of the student in the classroom (a). It also included two evaluation moments in each component (b e c). Ponderations in each component (CT+CTP e CP) are: 20% (a)+40% (b) +40% (c). The final score is a quantitative score of 0-20 values. Students approves with 10 values.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The CT and CTP develops the chapters: Angiology, Respiratory System; Digestive system; Urinary system; Female Reproductive System; Male Reproductive System; Endocrine system; Nervous system.Theoretical sessions will be supported by multimedia devices. It will be exposed and discussed in the classroom, the relevant theoretical concepts and promoted the learner autonomy by consultation of the recommended bibliography. The acquisition, understanding and application of knowledge through presence in the class will be privileged.In the first lesson will be presented the script of lectures, with the planning of lessons per week, the general and specific objectives forcourse and skills to be acquired. The general organization of the course (distribution of program, organization of the course and the monitoring of compliance objectives and quality) is the responsibility of Prof. Augusta Silveira. Regular meetings will be held with all teachers in order to monitor and promote the constant articulation between components.Continuous assessment of CT will take into account attendance and punctuality of the student and his attitude in the classroom.The are 2 written evaluations whose test consists of multiple choice questions, true and false questions and open questions.The final grade will take into account all parameters of assessment, and will be a quantitative score of 0-20 values.Students are approved with rating equal to or higher than 10 values. Students with a grade below 10 values have access to the Anatomy final examheld at a date to be determined by the Fernando Pessoa University .The CP develops the chapters: Angiology, Respiratory System; Digestive system; Urinary system; Female Reproductive System; Male Reproductive System; Endocrine system; Nervous system. Given the characteristics of the course, students will be encouraged to develop a type of continuous learning (using textbooks and anatomy atlas and anatomical models available in the Fernando Pessoa University laboratories) .Continuous evaluation of the CP will take place weekly and it will be asked the student to display topics already taught and according to the summary provided to class.It will be taken into account attendance and punctuality, motivation and commitment and its dynamic capability.Students are encouraged to expose orally program topics. The oral presentations also aim to promote lifelong learning and develop communication skills. There will be two written evaluation moments to identify anatomical structures in images and anatomical models. The final score is a quantitative score of 0-20 values. Students are approved with rating equal to or higher than 10 values. Students with a score less than 10 points will have to repeat the CP of the course in the following academic year.
