Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit: | |||
At the end of the course unit the student should: • Know how to apply the acquired knowledge and understanding, in order to show a professional approach. • Show ability to collect, select and interpret information relevant to the establishment of the diagnosis and the respective periodontal treatment plan, with non-surgical and surgical components. You should also have the knowledge to determine the prognosis of each dental piece. • Know how to apply theoretical knowledge and demonstrate the ability to perform different clinical acts of non-surgical periodontal treatment, with different degrees of difficulty. • To be able to base the solutions he / she advocates and the judgments he / she makes, including in analyzing the relevant scientific and ethical social aspects. | |||

The student's knowledge will be certified through an assessment of theoretical-practical and clinical knowledge. The theoretical and practical component of the course will correspond to two ECTS and to the clinical component two ECTS. Description: Examination of Periodontal Patients. Traditional methods and new diagnostic methods in Periodontics. Treatment plan for the cause. General Principles of Periodontal Surgery. Treatment of furcation lesions. Mucogengival Surgery. Regenerative surgery in Periodontics. Support Periodontal Treatment. | |||
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation): | |||
The student's knowledge will be certified through an assessment of the theoretical-practical and clinical knowledge in the following percentage: 50% theoretical and 50% assessment of the clinical work developed with patients. | |||
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes: | |||
The clinical component of the subject will correspond to two ECTS. The achievement of the two ECTS depends on compliance with the following parameters: • Punctuality and attendance (10%) • Presentation and posture of the student in clinical classes. Relations with colleagues, employees and patients (10%) • Work position, organization and cleanliness of the work space (10%) • Theoretical knowledge on matters related to clinical practice (20%) • Ability to establish a correct periodontal diagnosis and treatment plan (25%) • Capacity of execution of the clinical acts taking into account the degree of difficulty (25%) | |||
