Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Provide the student with the knowledge and skills necessary for independent professional dessenvolvimento and as a member of interdisciplinary gerontological team skills.
Syllabus:
-Definition and objectives of the specialty of gerontology
-The elderly patient: demographics, epidemiology and resources
-Prevention of disease, disability and dependency
ethical aspects
-Study of the main current theories of senescence and throughout the history of the study of aging. -Integration of the same.
