Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Recognize the interrelationship between environmental compartments, pollution and risks. At the end of the course, students should understand the fundamental concepts of ecotoxicology as well as the influence of anthropogenic activities in communities. In addition, students should know the routine toxicological analysis methods employed in order not only to the diagnosis of environmental quality as well as the prediction of environmental impacts
Syllabus:
Introduction to the course. Ecosystems and their functioning. ecotoxicology. The overall impact of pollution. EDs. Ecotoxicocinetic. Effects of pollutants at different levels of biological organization. Risk assessment. REACH program.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The program contents were defined according to the objectives and competences to be acquired by the students. They are informative in nature and invite critical reflection on the virtualities, contexts and risks associated with anthropogenic action, which is in line with the stated knowledge objectives.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Expository and active (active learning) including participative exhibition namely to the discussion of current topics. Appeal to documentaries, films and current news. The assessment will consist of a theoretical evaluation test and a practical assessment test, both individual.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The methodology adopted is intended to provide the acquisition of knowledge in the form of a Active learning process in which skills will be consolidated through the application of Knowledge gained in practical and theoretical-practical sessions and critical analysis of relevant topics within the discipline, in a group discussion.
