Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Knowledge in Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, drugs administration and drug development.
Syllabus:
Introduction. Bioavailability. Biopharmacothecnic. Pharmacokinetic.
Physiologic factors. Drug administration on the skin and mucous. Oral and parenteral administration. Physical-chemical factors. Pharmacotechnical factors.
Release, Absortion, Distribution, Metabolization, Excretion. Pharmacokinetic Models. Posology. Half-Life Time, Distribution Volume, Absortion Rate, Biotransformation rate, Excretion Rate, Plasmatic Clearance, Area under curve, Maximum concentration, Time of maximum concentration.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The unit of Biopharmacy and Pharmacokinetics has as main goals the knowledge related to the administration, bioavailabiltiy and establishiment of posological regimens. The taught knowledge allows students to understand the administration paths and pharmacokinetical characteristics in order to obtain the desired posological schemes
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
In the theoretical classes will be presented in a concise, descriptive and organizational form, concepts, theories and mechanisms that underlie the syllabus of these lessons. This exhibition will be accompanied when possible with appropriate audiovisual material. In order to acquire the necessary skills, students will be encouraged to deepen their knowledge and to seek its application in the analysis of new formulations, beyond those in the lectures. When asked, the teacher will clarify the questions and guide student study
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The theoretical evaluation through two written tests allows to evaluate the knowledge acquired by the students throughout the semester
