Syllabus:
Health Economics. Pharmacoeconomics. Healthcare evaluation process. Legislation. Costs in health. Direct, indirect and intangible cost. Cost analysis. Cost minimization analysis. Eficacy and efectiveness. Cost-eficacy analysis. Cost-efectivness analysis. Utility and quality of life. Cost-utility analysis. Cost-benefit analysis. Models in pharmacoeconomics - markov models. Pratical cases of healthcare evaluation.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The knowledge taught in this Unit provides the student with tools that will allow him to understand the different methodologies used in healthcare economics, understand the decisions taken within the existing National Health Service and the role of the pharmacist within that service.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
In the theoretical classes will be presented in a concise, descriptive and organizational form, concepts, theories and mechanisms that underlie the syllabus of these lessons. This exhibition will be accompanied when possible with appropriate audiovisual material. In order to acquire the necessary skills, students will be encouraged to deepen their knowledge and to seek its application in the analysis of new situations, beyond those in the lectures. When asked, the teacher will clarify the questions and guide student study. In theoretical practic classes problems on the taught subjects .will be solved

The theoretical evaluation through two written tests allows to evaluate the knowledge acquired by the students throughout the semester
