Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
- To know concepts, theories and stereotypes associated with human aging
- Identify the changes arising from the aging process.
- Identify nursing interventions aimed at the elderly in health-disease transitions and promoters of active aging.
- Understand the process of conception of nursing care for the elderly person inserted in their social and economic context.
- Know the support network for the elderly, namely the role of the family and primary caregiver.
- To understand the human responses to life processes and aging process and in the health-disease transitions of the elderly and family,
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills and attitudes in the process of designing nursing care for the elderly;

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
Being the main objective of this curricular unit, the acquisition of knowledge and the development of competences for the practice of nursing care to the elderly person inserted in their social-family environment, we consider that the programmatic contents will allow the development of the competences foreseen for the care nurse general.

The curricular unit allows, through Theoretical, Theoretical-Practical sessions and Tutorial Guidance, individual and in group, to achieve the objectives of the curricular unit, including diverse teaching methodologies namely expository, interrogative, role play, case studies and panel discussion.
The final evaluation will be made through individual and group assignments.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The proposed evaluation strategies allow validating the development of knowledge and skills in the scope of nursing care conception to the elderly person inserted in their sociofamiliar environment.
