Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
To integrate scientific knowledges and methodology of research abilities that garantee autonomy in conception, plannning, executation and evaluation of empirical research projects in the domain of communication and information sciences.
Syllabus:
Theoretical and methodological problems of research in the domain of communication and information sciences. Strategies of bibliographical and web research. Guide for the design of a research project. Main strategies, methods and techniques of research. Presentation of results in scientific research.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
With the aim that the student be able to integrate the scientific knowledge and the abilities of research methodology that guarantees autonomy in conception, planning, execution and evaluation of an empirical research project, in the domain of communication and information sciences, the contents treat the theoretical and methodological problems of research in this domain, the strategies of bibliographical and web research, the guide for the design of a research project, the main strategies of research and the methods and techniques of qualitative and quantitative data collecting and treatment, and the presentation and communication of the results.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
None formal evaluation is considered. The class presentation is based on the exposition of selected works and supported on discussion considering the students research areas in the systems and technology framework. Its required a minimal presence in class.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
For the development and consolidation of the research abilities the Unit follows a methodology of teaching that includes research, reading and discussion of specific bibliography, as well as thematic debate and critical reflections about them.
