Regarding the acquisition of skills in the area of capture and image editing, as well as their integration into coherent and cohesive narratives, and therefore guaranteeing the application of knowledge related to image editing tools, through a professional approach to the work of photographer and through concrete projects, parts two and three of the syllabus introduce, in a practical way, the camera and its operation, ensuring mastery of techniques and tools that certify captures and images processing.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The theoretical classes are lecture-based, for the teacher to present the selected texts, followed by discussions about the theory and history of image and photography. The practical classes analysis are used for the analysis of examples of the work of great photographers. There is also room for the application of knowledge relating to the capture and image editing tools, in the context of activities to be scheduled with the Photography Laboratory of the University.
The assessment consists of a written test (50%) and practical work, which includes a Portfolio with the captured and edited images, in the context of the course (50%).
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The theoretical written test aims to ensure that the student has read and understood the texts on the history and theory of photography and image, as studied and discussed during the lectures. The assessment of the practical component is done through the delivery of a Portfolio with the captured and edited images, thus allowing to identify if the student has applied, in a sustained way, the skills and tasks assigned by work done in the practical classes.
