Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The syllabus is designed according to the objectives set for the course unit. There is a theoretical initial module, Introduction to graphic design, focused on the history of visual communication, which aims to develop the ability to "see" and communicate through images, providing the student with a critical sense and self-critical of what he sees. In the second module, the structural elements of design and web communication, the student has contact with the elements and principles of graphic design and production mechanisms of communication and publishing to the web. It is an additional module to the first module, in that the student develops practical projects theoretically justified.
Programmatic contents begin with a theoretical approach on the issues considered fundamental to understanding of the course. Subsequently, increasingly, the student will be involved in a practical approach to developing and applying these concepts.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Module 1: Introduction to Graphic Design
Description: Introduction to Graphic Design: origin and evolution.
Module 2: Structural elements of design and web communication
Description: The basic elements and principles of design and your online communications.
The evaluation of the course is based on the model of continuous assessment and includes the following elements:
1. Written Test;
2. Elaboration of theoretical and practical subjects taught in focused projects;
3. Performance of the student, including attendance, technical performance, active class participation and interest shown by global issues.
1. Test: 50% (10 points)
Theoretical and practical 2. Labour: 45% (9 points)
3. Attendance and participation in class: 5% (1 points)
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The 1st module, Introduction to graphic design students have contact with large chains of design and visual communication in general. This approach aims to develop in students a visual culture that leads to better understanding the "world images" and how it has evolved, developing critically the ability to "see". In the 2nd module, structural design elements and web communication, the student has contact with the key elements and principles of design and visual communication. Based on the knowledge gained in the previous module, the student is encouraged to produce and publish on the web, According to certain methodologies provided.
