Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Knowledge and ability to understand advanced theoretical texts about the paradigm shift in communication, as well as multimedia applications and platforms; acquisition of skills in image, sound and video editing; application of knowledge related to multimedia editing tools through the realization of a multimedia project; ability to collect, select and interpret relevant information in the area of multimedia communication; competence to analyze relevant social scientific and ethical aspects in the area of knowledge and information society; skills in communication, enabling the student to express ideas, identify problems and propose solutions; independent research skills enabling self-learning and autonomy in the pursuit of knowledge.

Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
In order to ensure knowledge and ability to understand advanced theoretical texts about the paradigm shift in communication, as well as multimedia applications and platforms, the first part of the syllabus focuses on the study of concepts of multimedia communication (integration, interactivity, hypermedia, immersion and narrativity, as well as analysis of examples). With respect to the acquisition of skills in image, sound and video editing, the second part of the syllabus introduces, in a practical way, concepts and techniques for editing sound, image, and moving image. Finally, to ensure that the student is able to collect and interpret relevant information in the area of multimedia communication, applying it, in a consistent manner, on projects involving communication and the expression of ideas in the new medium, the third point of the program addresses in a practical way the methodologies for working in multimedia.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Theoretical classes include presentation and discussion with students of the selected theoretical texts, applying and relating these concepts in the analysis of digital works.
Practical classes aim to carry out a multimedia communication project (interactive map), integrating texts, sounds and images created by the students.
Evaluation:
1) Timeline + Oral presentation (10%)

Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The creation of a chronology about a pioneer and the analysis of an interactive multimedia work, both with an oral presentation, and the predicted theoretical test, aim to ensure that the student has read and understood the texts presented and discussed in the theoretical classes. The project - an interactive multimedia timeline - seeks to identify whether the student is able to apply the working practices highlighted in the practical lessons, using and applying the technical skills.
