Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
The discipline aims at the knowledge and comprehension skills necessary for the management of information (evaluation, collection, treatment and analysis), essential to the performance of scientific and / or professional work, using the UFP rules and the rules and good practices established.
It will appeal to the application and understanding of knowledge, through practical work and case studies, leading to the development of skills leading to autonomous and sustained lifelong learning. Students will research and select information that allows them to identify concepts and use them, either to produce the academic work correlative to their degree, or to anticipate future requests in professional terms.
Along with the written communication, the techniques and tools of oral communication necessary for the transmission of information, ideas, problems and solutions will be studied and learned, both for public experts and non-specialists.
Syllabus:
1. Presentation of key concepts in ICT.
2. Fundamentals and use of information resources made available by UFP (bibliographic catalogs, online databases, and the Internet).
3. Legal and ethical principles of the use of ICT.
4. Organization of reports and scientific / professional texts.
5. Methodology of scientific / professional work.
6. Individual and group communication tools.
7. Production of academic / professional presentations.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The knowledge and ability to understand the concepts underlying the management and use of information are achieved through the presentation of fundamental concepts in ICT and the methodology of scientific / professional work.
The application of knowledge and understanding, will materialize in the production of academic / professional presentations.
Judgment / decision making are contemplated in the legal and ethical principles of the use of ICT, in the fundamentals and use of the information resources made available by UFP (bibliographic catalogs, online databases, Internet) and in the methodology of scientific work /professionals.
The communication, shall be materialized in the organization of reports and scientific / professional texts Individual and group communication tools.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
1. Lectures, to present theoretical frameworks of reference.
2. Participatory classes, with discussion of programmatic topics and examples.
3. Active classes, with practical case studies and case studies.
4. Autonomous work: in addition to attendance, the student is encouraged to consult bibliography, review programmatic content, research topics and solve exercises.
Written test: 70%
Portfolio of work developed in class: 20%
Class participation: 10%
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The theoretical-practical presentations by the teacher promote the acquisition of knowledge and comprehension capacity. Student presentations, done in groups or individually, promote communication and application of knowledge and understanding. The practical cases, promote the realization of judgment / decision making and the communication and application of knowledge and their understanding.
