Learning Period:Language of Instruction:Total Hours:
Spring SemesterPortuguese/English65
Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Provide students with the knowledge and ability to understand and critically analyze the intervention of the physiotherapist in different populations with specific conditions.
The student at the end should be able to assess, identify and execute the different methods / techniques / approaches of physiotherapy and apply them in the context and clinical cases of populations with specific conditions. The student should know the indications and contraindications of each method/ technique / approach and formulate an appropriate clinical reasoning in order to assess and treat patients with specific conditions.
Syllabus:
Physiotherapist's intervention in women's health. II. Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. III Vestibular Rehabilitation. IV Pediatrics
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The deepening of theoretical and practical concepts enables students to understand the scientific reasoning that based therapeutic intervention in populations with specific conditions.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
The final score is calculated taking into account that each theme is 25% of the final score (4 themes).
Includes expository lessons and/or discussion of proposed topics. The assessment is comprised of four written exams (25%+25%+25%+25%) where theoretical-practical assumptions and scientific reasoning that based: I. Physiotherapist's intervention in women's health. II. Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. III Vestibular Rehabilitation. IV Pediatrics
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The expository and / or discussion of themes in the classroom allow the acquisition/ deepening by the student of theoretical-practical knowledge assumptions and scientific reasoning that based: I. Physiotherapist's intervention in women's health. II. Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy. III Vestibular Rehabilitation. IV Pediatrics. The discussion of topics on the practical-theoretical assumptions and scientific basis underlying the different interventions also allows students to develop the capacity for critical analysis on best clinical practices to take into populations with specific conditions.
