Learning Outcomes of the Curricular Unit:
Patology I is a basic discipline wich program intends the compreension of general pathologyc processes as well as physiopatholoic responses; mecanisms of celular aggression and its clinical meaning.
Syllabus:
Introduction to basic pathology.Celular aggression and adaptation: definitions; causes; pathogenesys; morphologic changes; degeneration, necrosis. Intracelular deposits. Proteins. Glicogen. Endogenous and exogenous pigments. Celular Adaptation Mecanisms: Atrophy; Hipertrophy; Hiperplasia; Metaplasia; Displasia. Acute and Chronic Inflamation; Chemical mediators; Systemic effects;Morphologic patterns.Regeneration process; Conective tissue repair; Cicatricial process: first and second intention. Oedema; Hyperhoemeia; Hemorragy; Trombosys; CVD; Emboli: pulmonar; systemic; aerius; lipidic. Acute miocardial infarction: Shock. Genetic Disturbances: citogenetic and mendelian. Imune system disturbances: hipersensibility; self-imune reactions; self-imune diseases; immunologic diseases. Tumors: definition and nomenclature; classification; benign and malign tumors; pathogenesis of cancer.
Demonstration of the Syllabus Coherence with the Curricular Unit's Objectives:
The construction of the syllabus, with the approach of the morphological and functional aspects of the organisms, with theoretical information, and discussion of the topics covered, including the use of appropriate resources, is appropriately suited to the process of learning the discipline of Pathology I.
Teaching Methodologies (Including Evaluation):
Interrogative, expositive e demonstrative. Oral exposure of the contents, stimulating active participation of students, using audiovisual tools.
Evaluation: 2 written tests about the contents.
The student must achieve the minimum grade of 10 val. The general 'Regulament' of UFP must be observed and followed about absences regime.
Demonstration of the Coherence between the Teaching Methodologies and the Learning Outcomes:
The construction of the syllabus, with the approach of the morphological and functional aspects of the organisms, with theoretical information, and discussion of the topics covered, including the use of appropriate resources, is appropriately suited to the process of learning the discipline of Pathology I.
